Scarabs, Scaraboids and Plaques from my collection

Ramses-Artemission4.JPG
I purchased this scarab (white steatite 2.0 cm) from Artemission (see links) On the right side it depicts the throne name of Ramses II. The inscription on the left reads Neb Amun-Re "Amun-Re rules". The scarab depicts a ram headed sphinx, a symbol of the god Amun. The message of the scarab is: Ramses II, protected by Amun-Re. Note the enlarged base and the spreading legs upon it - typical for the 19th Dyn. See picture with a parallel in Newberry 1906, Pl. XXXV, 3.
chariot.JPG
This one (steatite 1.8 cm) depicts the king in his chariot, wearing the blue war crown and a bow. See parallels from Tell el-Farah in Israel. One is inscribed with the throne name of Ramses II. This is a typical Ramessid type. - found in Israel
RamessesIIa.JPG
Another scarab (steatite 1.6 cm) with the throne name of Ramses II in a cartouche flanked by Maat feathers and protective Uraei. See the similar cowroid of Thutmosis III in my collection. Scarabs with side notches are rather scarce. Petrie knows 2 examples of this type (V 25). Both are depicting the throne name of Ramses II. Reference: Petrie 1917, Pl. XXXIX, 9, cowroid with the name of Sethos I, flanked by Maat feathers and Uraei.
king.JPG
The king kills a fettered enemy, a typical Ramessid scene. (Steatite 1.7 cm) Found in Israel, note the parallel from Tell el-Farah in Israel.
